My Story

I am an academic (Ph.D. in Cognitive Linguistics – Boulder, CO) raised in concrete, asphalt and steel (Chicago, Milwaukee, Montclair, NJ). I have moved all over the US for school and academic jobs. (B.A. with Honors in Russian and French at the University of Wisconsin-Madison), M.A. in Linguistics (San Jose State University and University of Colorado, Boulder, CO). I taught at the U. of CO-Boulder, U. of CO-Denver, Metropolitan State College of Denver, and landed at Boston College for four years in the early 2000s.

I moved south in 2007 to get away from winter. Teaching at the university level for decades, I have focused on research and academic presentations and writing in order to support intellectual development and maturation. I believe in you and your potential for greatness.

My academic credentials include decades of delivery of psychology, education, English, and linguistic courses to audiences of traditional college students, adult learners, and high school juniors / seniors. My work has included development of curricula for a diverse and varied audience as well as mentoring of educational advancement for these populations.
